Apartment Mengula

Mengula review Have just stayed for two fantastic weeks at the Mengula. Having been to Cavtat before this time we wanted something closer to the centre and the Mengula is in a perfect location just steps away from the main harbour with any number of bars and restaurants in easy reach. It wasn't a problem for us but due the unevenness of the street and the number of steps leading up to the apartment itself access is not suitable for those with motability problems. Antun and his wife live downstairs and are very friendly. They met us on arrival and showed us around and I'm delighted to say that apartment looks exactly like the photos on the website. The balcony is huge and gets sun all day, perfect for those days you feel lazy. The main bedroom is very big, it didn't have aircon (only the living room does) but there is a fan and if you leave the door open you soon feel the benefit. The bathroom is nice and the shower a good size. Plenty of hot water. The towels were changed frequently throughout our stay. There is a fridge, hob and grill but to be honest we had breakfast out most mornings as the bakery was cheap, had a fantastic choice and lovely coffee. Due to the proximity of bars expect some noise, however as most of them wind down no later than midnight it's not too much of a problem. It's more likely to be the neighbours TV that will disturb you. We always travel with earplugs anyway and so it didn't really bother us. I would thoroughly recommend the apartment and would not hesitate to stay here again. FYI - Please note that the property owner will only take cash as payment. Despite me checking with booking.com before leaving home to see if I could pay by credit card this was not the case and so I incurred extra costs by having to withdraw cash from my bank over there.
